Dr. Burns spends a whole chapter on Self-Esteem and if you were to read only one chapter this would be it.  Self-Esteem is the largest difference make in an individual’s life.  Those of us who live with depression and anxiety are the kings’ and queens’ of sabotaging our own self-esteem.  Dr. Burns talks about this and how we have to make changes in our behaviour and thought processes to correct this problem.  Dr. Burns discusses how self-esteem is not determined by what we own and how our careers do not define us.  This one chapter can make a significant impact on your life and you must take the time to read it.  Next week I will discuss the chapter on overcoming “Do Nothing”.
