CBT is a therapy that has proven in many studies to help depressed people achieve positive results.  It’s main focus is that depression is an emotion which is a result of a thought.  If you can change the thoughts to positive you can reduce or eliminate depressed emotions.  Now to have CBT work the biggest thing is you must want to get better.  Another type of therapy that is similar is NLP.  (Neuro Linguistic Programming)  Both of these therapy’s focus on the problem and the now to help free you from it.
