It is key for every one to stop and remember to celebrate the good days. Life as most know is not always going to be fair and sometimes you are going to come out on the losing end.
Just remember that when you have a good day that may not be significant in life such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc, but one where you accomplished a lot or made a small difference in someone else’s life, celebrate them.
The celebration doesn’t have to be big or consist of any other people. Just try and take five or ten minutes at the end of the day where you look back at everything you did and compliment yourself.
People in general and especially those with mental illnesses tend to be too hard on themselves. Look at your good day and make a conscious effort to smile and be proud of yourself.
If you take the time to celebrate the little victories you achieve every day it will do your self-esteem a world of good.
